Beso de Vino is made by Grandes Vinos y Viñedos S.A. which was founded in 1997 with the aim of being the main economic driving force of the region and in particular of the 1,200 vine growers that are the core of its existence. It bases its strategy on quality, innovation and commitment to the surroundings and the environment. In 2009, Grandes Vinos y Viñedos teamed with Kukuxumusu ("The Drawing Factory") to develop a new premium quality brand... Beso de Vino.
The winery is located in the heart of the Carinena, one of Spain's most traditional wine-producing regions. The origin of the Aragonese vineyards comes from the region called Celtibera, where the Roman town of Carae (Carinena today) was situated and whose inhabitants were known to drink wine mixed with honey as far back as the third century BC.
This wine is 100% Syrah, coming from 15 year old vines. In order to extract the maximum potential of the grapes, they are macerated for 4 to 5 days at a temperature of 46-50ºF. Fermentation is then made at 78ºF with a constant remontage and delestages to maintain the concentration of the wine. The wine is then aged for 3 months in American oak barrels.
