Spadafora Schietto Chardonnay

2005 Golden yellow color, a variety note well-mixed with the oak. Rich, spiced flavor with tones of citrus fruits. Goes well with seafood, risotto, grilled fish and shellfish.

Azienda Agricola Spadafora was established by don Pietro, Prince of Spadafora, who had inherited the estate from his uncle Michele De Stefani, a capable farmer and racehorse breeder. The origins of this aristocratic family can be traced back to the XIII century. The present owner is Francesco Spadafora, son of don Pietro, who attends to grape-growing in his vineyards extending over about 100 hectares.

Azienda Agricola Spadafora is situated in the hilly area of contrada Virzì, within the Monreale district, between Palermo and Alcamo. The estate extends over 180 hectares, 100 of which are vineyards. Great attention is also placed on olive-tree and pickly pear growing, the latter covering about 3 hectares.

Vineyards for this wine are located in the Monreale - Palermo region (Loc. Virzì.) Light skin contact maceration, and fermentation with selected yeasts at controlled temperature in barriques. Malolactic in barriques. The wine is aged 10 months in barriques.
