2006
Deep straw with radiant highlights, the nose reveals intense aromas of apricot and peach followed by subtle scents of hazelnut, pineapple and vanilla. Persistent flavors of apple and pear endure in a rich-bodied wine that finishes with crisp acidity.

Additional Information
Fattoria la Torre is located near the village of Montecarlo, in the province of Lucca just west of Florence. The wines of Montecarlo are some of Tuscany’s most historically important as in the 15th century they were favorites of Pope Paul III Farnese according to a document written by his cellar master. The official Montecarlo DOC area was not established until 1969 and further updated in 1994.
Owned by brother and sister Mauro and Elena Celli, the family’s commitment to producing high quality wines begins in the vineyard where grapes are grown without the use of chemical pesticides and fertilizers. Fattoria la Torre is certified as a biodynamic producer by the rigorous and well-respected Demeter International organization and their historical cellar has been outfitted with the most advanced winemaking facilities, allowing for the production of consistently excellent wines.
An eponym for one of the most luminous stars in the sky, Altair is a brilliant blend of 50% Vermentino and 50% Viognier. Harvesting of the grapes begin in late September followed by destemming and a soft pressing. The temperature controlled vinification occurs in stainless steel tanks followed by 6 months aging in barrique and steel. Before it is released the wine matures another 3 months in bottle.
