Additional Information
Though Château de Graves evokes a famous appellation in Bordeaux, its name is actually derived from the gravelly soil that, together with a layer of clay, composes part of this vineyard’s terroir. This very limited production, château-bottled wine is created under the close supervision of estate owner Eric Arnesen.
Grapes making this wine are harvested manually from vineyards that are pruned back 20% annually. Vinification takes place at 32ºC (89.5ºF) for 3 weeks. The wine is then fined using egg whites and aged for 14 months in two-year-old oak barrels.
This wine is a blend of 60% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 10% Cabernet Franc.
