Don Juan Graffigna arrived to Argentina in 1865. This pioneering Italian immigrant brought with him a vast wine experience gained in his native country, as well as excellent European vine varieties. He incoporated these to the Argentine lands, which have ideal characteristics for growing vines.
Graffigna is the first winery in the province of San Juan. Since its beginnings, Graffigna produces wine using grapes from different valleys and microclimates with outstanding features. In the past few years, it began a viticulture study and development process in the province of San Juan, with the aid of a group of technicians with international experience. It implemented a strong investment plan that includes the incorporation of cutting-edge agroindustrial technology, equipment and modern production techniques, which allowd an increase in production and storage capacity.
This Malbec is produced with grapes from the Pedernal Valley in the San Juan province, 1,400 meters high, with a temperature range of more than 20º C. It transmits a great varietal expression with well-defined and concentrated colors and bouquets. It has been aged 50% in oak (50% in French oak and 50% in American oak) for 12 months, and then 6 months in the bottle.
