Additional Information

In 1992, Debbie and Randy Lewis established a small family winery in Napa Valley and were later joined by their son Dennis in 1999. Total production is approximately 9,000 cases annually of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc. Debbie, Randy and Dennis are literally hands-on in every aspect of vineyard management, winemaking, sales and distribution. Their goal is to create world-class wines sourced from the finest fruit from Calistoga, St. Helena, Rutherford and Oak Knoll for the red varietals.

Lewis wines begin as numerous small lots of fruit vinified by vineyard block, varietal, clone and rootstock. Red varietals are picked at full ripeness and maturity. Hand sorted and de-stemmed to small stainless steel tanks and open top fermenters, the wines are pressed off at dryness after 2-4 weeks on the skins. Bordeaux varietals are aged primarily in new French oak for 19 months then bottled unfined and unfiltered.

From the exceptional 2007 vintage, with production down 15% from 2006, the winery has crafted a densely woven, deeply fruited Reserve Cabernet rooted in Pritchard Hill, Calistoga, Rutherford and Oak Knoll hillside vineyards. Broad-shouldered and muscular, this wine is a blend of 97% Cabernet Sauvignon and 3% Cabernet Franc. Only 1,700 cases were produced.
