Domaine St George STG Zinfandel
Intense aromas of raspberry, ripe blackberry, and cranberry fruit dominate. Bright and well balanced with a round mouth feel. Subtle layers of chocolate, and vanilla support the typical Zinfandel berry flavors that are wrapped around spice notes of black pepper, eucalyptus, clove and nutmeg. A lingering finish.

Sonoma native Bob Fredson has been winemaker at Domaine St. George for the past 29 years. That’s a long time at the same job - long enough to leave his mark on the wines he makes. Bob is more than a "cellar rat". His healthy glow comes from the warm Sonoma sunshine. He personally supervises vineyard operations, especially the harvest. Bob is a hands-on guy, "By personally supervising work in the vineyards, directing the crush and making the wines, I can assure that the quality we insist on is achieved."
Working this closely with nature can only instill a greater sense of respect and responsibility. Again, Bob says it best, "Because we live on or near the land and work on it almost daily, we want it to be environmentally safe. So we farm as naturally as possible, minimizing any change in the soil’s natural cycle of replenishment and regeneration."
At Domaine St. George, they don’t just talk the talk. They’ve won Sonoma’s Green Business Award for their holistic approach to everything from energy use and wastewater treatment to recycling and conservation. Domaine St. George has been around since 1934. Proof that you can do the right thing and still be successful in business. This honest, wholesome approach comes through in the wine too.
In outstanding vintages, an estate-bottled Zinfandel is produced from the "home" vineyard, a wine that typically sells out upon release. The vineyards at Domaine Saint George have a history which parallels that of Sonoma County as a source of world-class varietal wines.
