Established in 1898, Cantina di Soave is a premier cooperative winery in Italy. The founding group of vine growers and wine producers joined forces to improve production quality and standards to bring unsurpassed value to consumers. The winery was organized to implement stringent vineyard management, winemaking, marketing and sales across the board to ensure that each member-grower obtains optimal results. Today over 2,200 farmers are members of the cooperative and more than 8,600 acres are under vine, 70% of which are within the DOC and DOCG zones. From its six wineries located throughout the Soave zone, Cantina di Soave makes a variety of award-winning indigenous wines from the region of Veneto including Soave, Valpolicella Ripasso, and Amarone.
Made from 100% Corvina, Re Midas Corvina hails from the Veneto, a region located in Northeast Italy with a deep winemaking history. This expansive region with sunny hillsides is home of the delicious Soave wine. Re Midas Soave fully expresses the Veneto region’s luscious fresh fruit flavors. As the myth goes, everything that Re (King) Midas touched turned to gold. Re Midas wines are an example of this “golden touch.”
Re Midas vineyards are located in the splendid hills situated between Verona and Venezia. The vineyards are cultivated in calcareous soils which are rich in potassium and magnesium. The vines are trained both in pergola Veronese and spalliera. This wine is fermented in stainless steel tanks at 68° F with maceration on the skins for 12 days. It's aged 3 months in stainless steel followed by 1 month in bottle before release.
