In Monterey County, Arroyo Loma Vineyard’s Merlot grapes are some of the last fruit picked. Arroyo Loma was the obvious choice for this Monterey County Merlot. With an exceptionally long hang time, accompanied by an excellent combination of hot days and cool nights the Merlot grapes maintain their acidity, keep their rich aromas, and express a deep almost-black-purple. The wine is fermented at low temperatures to maintain its flavors and structure. This Merlot’s subtle French and American oak components compliment the fruit tannins but don’t overwhelm the mouth-feel of the wine.
