La Vis Pinot Noir

2007 A light and sophisticated wine whose purity of fruit and intensity of flavor reflect the clean clear climate of the Trentino. Bright cherry and raspberry aromas appear first in the bouquet, shadowed by subtle hints reminiscent of a deep forest. On the palate, this wine is graceful and shows a beautiful balance between redcurrant flavored fruit, bright acidity and velvety smooth tannins with a touch of spice on the finish.

Additional Information

Want to make an impression at your next dinner? Then this gracious wine is just what you need! Pinot Noir is the ultimate food wine and an Italian Pinot Noir is uncommon enough to interest even the most jaded wine lover.

La Vis vineyards high in the slopes of the Valle dell’Adige where they benefit from bright sunlight and cool mountain breezes.

Pinot Noir, or Pinot Nero as it is named locally, is one of the leading red grape varietals in Northeastern Italy.

In 1948, a group of dedicated winegrowers decided to join together to rebuild their local wine business. The region has a proud history going back hundreds of years to the Rhetians, the ancestral settlers of the Tyrolean Alps and these growers were determined to prove once again the quality of wines that could be produced in their valley.

Not content to rest with the status quo or to merely look over their shoulder to the past for inspiration, these ambitious growers embarked upon a project called zonazione in partnership with the prestigious enological institute San Michele all' Adige.

Together, the growers and researchers carefully evaluated the soil composition, altitude, winds, precipitation and exposition of each vineyard site.

Thus, each vineyard has a personalized cultivation program and the grape varieties grown are ideally suited to it.

Winemaker Gianni Gasperi upholds the same standards of excellence and quest for personalization of each wine in the cellar where vinification techniques are tailored to bring out the character not only of the grape varietal, but also of the vineyard site.

Since Pinot Noir is naturally an expressive grape, this one truly exemplifies its terroir of origin. It’s ideally suited to food; serve with grilled salmon and wilted greens, with lighter meat dishes or with pasta in rich sauces.
