Additional Information

Hardys Oomoo was one of the first wines produced by Thomas Hardy at his original Bankside winery. Throughout the late 1800s and early 1900s it was Hardy’s most recognisable label, the word Oomoo adopted from the local Aboriginal dialect meaning ‘good’ or ‘attractive’. Today, Oomoo showcases the premium regions of South Australia. Every wine is a true reflection of the variety and the region. 2014 was a low yielding but incredibly high quality vintage. A wet and windy start to spring paved the way for moderate set (pollination of grape flowers) which let to moderate level coulure in grape bunches (Hen and Chicken) and consequently lower yields. The growing season was generally kind throughout summer leaving little to no threat of disease or dilution. Average to cooler than average conditions at harvest with smaller yields led to high concentration of flavor and high retention of natural acidity.
