Testa Montepulciano d’Abruzzo
The deep color is the first sign of the surprising concentration this wine offers. Warm, ripe black fruits dominate the bouquet and follow through on the palate of this chocolatey rich, full-bodied wine. Lengthy finish is smooth with a hint of vanilla.

Looking for value for the money? Montepulciano d'Abruzzo is rapidly outpacing Chianti as Italy's most widely enjoyed red wine for everyday drinking. It’s appreciated for its supple charms and value for money. The house red has grown up!
Abruzzo is a land of unspoiled beauty with tiny villages perched on the hilltops reaching from the sandy coastline of the Adriatic to the foothills of the Abruzzi Appennines. Abruzzo is the most protected region in Italy with 28% of its territory designated as national parkland.
Michele Troia, a historian of the 18th century was the first to assert that the Montepulciano variety originated in the Valle Peligna in the Abruzzi.
Today, it is cultivated in all four provinces of the Abruzzi where it thrives on the hillsides at altitudes not exceeding 500 meters. In addition to Montepulciano, Sangiovese from Tuscany is sometimes used in the production of Montepulciano d'Abruzzo.
Testa’s Montepulciano is made from 100% Montepulciano from Ortona, San Salvo and Pollutri. Grapes are picked at optimal ripeness for full fruit flavor.
The wine is carefully vinified to achieve maximum concentration and to capture the delicious rich character of the Montepulciano grape. After fermentation, it’s aged for several months in oak barrels to add an extra level of depth and complexity.
You can serve this wine to friends at a big pasta dinner, bring it to the next cookout you’re invited to or you can open a bottle, order a pizza and enjoy a quiet evening at home!
