Laurent Miquel Syrah/Grenache
This 75/25 blend is both powerful and elegant. Dense black cherry fruit forms the base with a progression of subtle nuances of smoky spice, mocha, black olive, and wild garrigue evolving as the bouquet opens. Concentrated fruit with velvety smooth tannins fill the palate and linger on in the silky finish.

This young winemaker has taken up the cause of Syrah and Viognier in his corner of Languedoc in the foothills of the Caroux mountains. Though these two grapes originally come from the northern Rhône Valley, Laurent has demonstrated that the rocky, dry soils and sunny, warm climate of Languedoc can produce exceptional Syrah and Viognier.
Laurent hand selects the finest grapes from his family’s vineyards near the village of Cessenon sur Orb. Laurent does not believe the winemaker should leave a heavy mark on the wine. For him, noble grapes from low yielding vines on the appropriate terroir should require minimal intervention to produce a fine wine. Ultimately a truly great wine is the result of a year of hard work in the vineyard.
