Castillo de Fuente D.O. Valencia
A hedonistic bouquet rich with primary aromas of black berry, figs, plums and prunes accented by notes of tobacco, pepper and brandied cherries. On the palate it is ripe and layered with full-bodied flavor and plush, soft tannins. Long, smooth finish fades away gracefully.

Summertime sipping at its best! Valencia, on Spain's Mediterranean coast, is the great port of Spanish wine. In the last century, Swiss, French and Italian traders began exporting the region's hearty red wines to those areas of Europe whose own vineyards were devastated by phylloxera.
Monastrell vine pruned in the traditional gobelet style. Vines are spaced rather far apart in this arid climate.
The region struggled to shake off its reputation for bulk wine as the rest of Spain underwent a revolution in quality. Valencian wines are finally attracting attention for their great prices and the quality wines in the bottle!
Bodegas La Vina, who produces Castillo de Fuente, is part of Valencia's wine revolution. They're dedicated to R&D in both the vineyards and the cellar.
Carrying on the traditional methods passed down through the generations from father to son, they've updated the winemaking techniques to produce wines for the world market.
A blend of Monastrell and Forcayat, the grapes are crushed and destemmed before being pumped into temperaturecontrolled fermentation tanks. The wine is regularly pumped over during fermentation to extract the color, flavor and tannins from the grape skins.
Next time you're grilling steaks, burgers (beef or veggie) or sausages open up a bottle of Castillo de Fuente; it's the perfect wine for BBQ food.
