Sauvignon Blanc is the ideal wine to pair with a summer meal or to sip on its own while you’re sitting in the back yard relaxing.
iThe Atacama Desert lies to the north of the vineyard region, the Andes Mountains to the east, the Pacific Ocean to the west and the Patagonian icefields to the south.
Sauvignon Blanc from Chile is especially suited for this kind of enjoyment. They’re generally reasonably priced and made in a light, crisp style that goes well with food or alone as an aperitif.
Viñedos Terranoble’s wines fall right into this category—inexpensive and easy-to-drink for any occasion. The winery is located in the Maule Valley and they have vineyard holdings in the Maule, Colchagua and Casablanca valleys.
Each vineyard property was carefully selected to capture the best attributes of each grape variety and improve the wine’s complexity by adding something of the unique terroir to the wines.
With the vineyards so thoughtfully planned, nothing was left to chance in the cellar either. Winemaking is in the capable hands of Ignacio Conca.
Ignacio’s early interest in plants led him to study agriculture. During his junior year at the University of Chile he experienced an epiphany one evening while sharing a bottle of wine with friends in Santiago and decided to become a winemaker. He enrolled in the school’s enology and viticulture program, writing his thesis on organic winemaking (the first in Chile). After graduation, Ignacio worked at Viña Santa Rita for four intense years, before joining Viñedos Terranoble. At Terranoble, he has worked with French winemaker Henry Marionnet and with Chilean enologist Mario Geisse, former Technical Director of the Chandon Group, with whom he has developed the entire line of Terranoble wines. Ignacio has established his own modern style of winemaking which shines through in the Terranoble wines.
Ignacio’s Sauvignon Blanc is vinified entirely in stainless steel tanks to capture the vivid aromas and flavors and retain the zesty acidity.
