Alta Vista Single Vineyard Malbec
Stands out for its floral aromas, good acidity, and elegant and rounded tannins. Very nice, refined, with some suggestion of minerality and that bleu/black fruit. Racy palate, with good acidity and a savoury stripe of tannin running through the earthy, but tight and powerful fruit.

Alta Vista is one of the largest family-owned wineries in Argentina. The d’Aulan Family’s mission is to illustrate the very best expression of the different Argentine terroirs.
They have done groundbreaking work with terroir and varietal management, comparing different vineyard terroirs and the unique characteristics they impart to the wines. They were the first Argentinean winery to produce vineyard designated wines.
The soil of this terroir, located in The Gates, Lujan de Cuyo, is a loose mixture of mud and clay, with a layer of rolling stone at a depth of between one and two meters. The soil is very poor and permeable. Irrigation method is traditional, using water coming from the Andes. The climate is mild and arid. The proximity of the hills minimizes the risk of frost from cold air currents which descend into the Mendoza river valley in spring. The plants in this vineyard are approximately 55 years old, and are pruned using the Guyot pruning technique.
