Vallone Vigna Flaminio Brindisi Riserva
2005
Ruby-red in color with a graceful, aromatic nose. Spicy with subtle sweet oak complimenting the black raspberry and licorice flavors and aromas, with just a hint of dried sour cherries lurking in the background. Powerful and well structured on the palate. Not too tannic, but it has plenty of acidity and a velvety finish.

Additional Information
Agricole Vallone was founded in 1934 as a family-run winery. Today, it is directed by Vittoria and Maria Teresa Vallone, who have relied on the technical assistance of viticulturalist Donato Lazzari and on the winemaking guidance of consultant Graziana Grassini.
The growing and winemaking are located in the areas covered by Salice Salentino DOC, Brindisi DOC, Salento IGT, as well as Colline Brindisine DOP. The three estates cover a total of 600 hectares, with 170 planted to vineyard. Agricole Vallone has two different winemaking facilities, each with the most advanced, up-to-date equipment. The Flaminio estate, near Brindisi, houses the cellar where all of the wines are actually made, while the Copertino cellar, in the province of Lecce, carries out the painstaking process of maturation, with wines aging in stainless steel as well as in oak.
This wine is made from a well-crafted cuvée of Negroamaro, Malvasia Nera and Montepulciano varieties from the best Tenuta Flaminio vineyards, largely still trained to the traditional head-trained gobelet method. This wine exhibits the individual characteristics of its component varieties, the Malvasia Nera's aromatic elegance, the Negroamaro's structure and power, and the Montepulciano's velvety fruitiness.
