The continuous line of hills and ridges that surround the ancient centre of Amelia have been covered with rows of vines for centuries, immersed in the one of the most enchanting landscapes of Umbria. Here the altitude, microclimate and the land make up an ideal composition.
The wine cellar of Colli Amerini was born in 1975. With its 350 hectares of vines it has become witness to a synthesis of the immense potentiality of the territory. By intensifying the understanding of all thier vines and selecting those having the highest organoleptic value, and at the same time of a superior level, the winery has obtained excellent results, also helped by the improvements in vinification techniques and by some of the most advanced and efficient machinery.
Ciliegiolo is a variety of red wine grape from Italy, named after the Italian for "cherry". It is a minor component of traditional blends such as Chianti, but interest has revived in recent years. In Umbria it is made into a light quaffing wine.
